Why this space exists...

My
Story
The inevitable question: what led to this space?
After years of staying busy and striving toward the dreams I thought I wanted, life shifted in ways I wasn’t prepared for. A series of unfortunate events forced me to pause - to grieve a version of my life that was no longer available- and to reflect on how I wanted, and maybe even needed, to rebuild.
I found myself asking deeper questions: who was I becoming, and how did I want to show up in the world? That season of life eventually birthed BericaFaye.
BericaFaye began as a personal practice—a way of slowing down, paying attention, and being present. A space to document what it looks like to live well with intention, especially in seasons of change.
Here, I explore hosting as an act of care rather than performance. Food and tea as tools for presence. Gathering as something that doesn’t require perfection, but thoughtfulness—a daily reminder for a recovering perfectionist.
Much of what’s shared here is learned in real time. Some through study (looking at you, tea sommelier classes), some through experimentation (hello, Curated Curiosity), and much of it through lived experience—documented as it unfolds.
BericaFaye is not about arriving at an ideal version of life. It’s about noticing and appreciating what’s already here, leaning into what matters, and creating room for connection along the way.
If you find yourself drawn to living well, gathering with intention, and the quiet beauty of everyday moments, you’ll feel at home in this space.
